On June 9, news emerged that the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, along with other relevant departments, has recently unveiled the Action Plan for the High-Quality Development of Electric Vehicle Charging Facilities in Guangdong Province. This plan is designed to establish a premium charging system that integrates ultra-fast, fast, and slow charging options in a complementary manner. This will be achieved through the innovation of application scenarios, enhancement of the charging network, improvement of charging efficiency, optimization of services, and cultivation of an innovative industrial ecosystem. Additionally, the plan aims to ensure an equitable distribution of charging facilities across eastern, western, and northern Guangdong, as well as the Pearl River Delta region, thereby promoting the widespread adoption of electric vehicles. By the conclusion of 2027, Guangdong Province envisions the construction of over 3 million charging facilities, which will effectively meet the charging requirements of more than 8 million new energy vehicles. Furthermore, the plan sets a goal to achieve 'county-wide availability of ultra-fast charging,' ensuring that the number of ultra-fast charging stations is at least on par with the number of gas stations.
