In May, the landscape of passenger car retail sales underwent a significant transformation, with all top 10 models being new energy vehicles (NEVs). These NEVs encompassed a variety of types, including battery electric vehicles (BEVs), extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). Notably, not a single fuel-powered car managed to secure a spot in the top 10 rankings. This marks a stark contrast to the situation earlier in the year: in January, 7 out of the top 10 models were fuel-powered cars; this number dropped to 5 in March and further dwindled to just 1 in April, indicating a swift and complete shift away from fuel-powered car dominance within a mere six-month period.
