On June 8, the official WeChat account of the Chongqing Municipal Economy and Information Technology Commission announced that Changan Automobile’s self-developed Tianshu large-scale AI model has successfully passed the generative artificial intelligence services filing review conducted by the Cyberspace Administration of China. This achievement positions Changan as the first automaker in Chongqing—and one of the select few nationwide—to attain this prestigious national-level qualification.

Tailored specifically for in-vehicle applications, the Tianshu model has undergone rigorous internal testing and has now officially secured commercial deployment rights. The successful filing of Changan’s Tianshu model signifies a pivotal shift in China’s automotive industry, as it transitions from laboratory-based research to large-scale commercialization of in-house AI technologies. This milestone removes policy barriers, paving the way for the widespread adoption of intelligent vehicle interaction systems and autonomous driving services across the market.
