On June 4, at a press briefing for the 33rd China SAE Annual Conference & Exhibition and Automotive Innovation Technology Exhibition—which took place on June 3—Hou Fushen, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Society of Automotive Engineers, highlighted that during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, China's automotive industry is set to undergo a pivotal transition, shifting from a focus on scale expansion to comprehensive high-quality development. Over the next five years, the industry is expected to see rapid advancements in electrification technologies, a widespread digital and intelligent transformation across the entire industrial chain, and significant shifts in the competitive and cooperative dynamics between Chinese and foreign automotive sectors. It is anticipated that by 2030, new energy vehicle models will account for over 70% of new passenger car sales, the adoption rate of Level 3 and Level 4 autonomous driving functions will exceed 35%, and China's overseas automotive sales will reach nearly 10 million units, with internationalization emerging as a major catalyst for high-quality development in the industry.
