Tesla has introduced a web-based dashcam viewer tool (dashcam.tesla.com), released alongside the 2026.20 vehicle system update. The new version not only enables dashcam video encryption by default (users can disable it in "Controls > Safety") but also adds parental control features. Additionally, a troubleshooting panel and camera cleaning tutorial have been added to the maintenance mode. Users need to log in to their Tesla account and use an exclusive key to decrypt and view encrypted dashcam videos, while unencrypted files can be played directly. All decryption is performed locally without uploading to the cloud. The web tool's interface follows the layout of the in-car player, supporting video drag-and-drop uploads, merging multi-camera videos by timestamp, and offering quad-screen and single-camera view switching. A one-click full download button is also available at the bottom. Furthermore, the tool is mobile-compatible but requires a USB OTG adapter, though access is currently unavailable in some countries and regions. Previously, the Spring 2026 update extended dashcam loop recording storage to 24 hours (requires a USB drive with 1TB or more capacity).
