Waymo has officially opened its new self-driving taxi service, Ojai, to select users. The vehicle is better adapted to snowy environments and has a lower manufacturing cost than previous models. Waymo announced on Thursday that some residents in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix can now experience the service, with expansion to San Diego, Las Vegas, and Denver planned for this summer. Ojai made its debut in 2024 and has been available to internal employees and visitors in San Francisco and Los Angeles since February this year.
