On May 14, in reaction to the 'helpless' comments made by a Porsche China executive at an industry forum concerning the alleged imitation of the brand's design, Luo Yonghao publicly countered. He stated that while he empathizes with Porsche's purported 'helplessness,' it is an overstatement to assert that Chinese automakers are 'remarkably consistent' in copying designs. He highlighted that it is a prevalent trend among new energy vehicle companies to draw inspiration from Porsche's design aesthetics in the context of industrialized nations' development. However, he also pointed out that Porsche itself had copied the design of Czechoslovakia's Tatra in its early days and had even resorted to using external influences to meddle in regular commercial litigation. Luo Yonghao underscored that Porsche's past copying actions have been legally acknowledged, and thus, it lacks the credibility to assume a moral high ground and accuse other automakers.
