On May 14, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) released an analysis highlighting the trends in the commercial vehicle market for April 2026. According to the report, while passenger car production and sales experienced an uptick from the previous month, truck production and sales saw a notable decline. However, when compared to the same period the previous year, both production and sales demonstrated growth. Specifically, in April, commercial vehicle production reached 378,000 units and sales hit 397,000 units, marking a month-on-month decrease of 19.7% and 18.5%, respectively. Yet, on a year-on-year basis, these figures represented increases of 4.4% and 8.1%. From January to April 2026, the cumulative production and sales of commercial vehicles stood at 1.508 million and 1.511 million units, respectively, reflecting year-on-year growth of 7% and 6.5%.
