On May 13, in an effort to alleviate pressures within the industry, European automakers are preparing to journey to Brussels to advocate against the EU's stringent carbon emission regulations. It has been reported that representatives from leading automakers, including Volkswagen, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, along with their suppliers and various industry associations, are slated to engage in discussions with EU officials on Wednesday. Sources familiar with the matter reveal that, having already secured certain concessions several months ago, these lobbying groups are now pushing for even greater leniency in the EU's CO2 emission targets set for 2035. Furthermore, they are striving to sway the relevant clauses concerning local sourcing and the utilization of low-carbon materials outlined in the Industrial Accelerator Act.
