On May 12, 2026, the China Automobile Dealers Association unveiled the findings of its April "Automobile Dealer Inventory" survey. The data revealed that the comprehensive inventory coefficient for automobile dealers stood at 1.89 in April, marking a 7.4% increase from the previous month and a substantial 34.0% rise year-on-year. According to the statistics, terminal sales of passenger vehicles amounted to 1.384 million units in April. Based on this figure, it can be estimated that the total inventory of automobile dealers reached approximately 2.6 million vehicles by the end of April. The escalating inventory pressure is a prevalent issue among major brands, with joint venture brands experiencing the highest inventory coefficient at 2.24.
