On May 11, the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Alliance unveiled its latest data, indicating that in April, China's total production volume of power and energy storage batteries soared to 183.9 GWh. This marked a 3.5% increase from the previous month and a significant 55.6% surge compared to the same period last year. From January to April of this year, the cumulative production reached 671.3 GWh, representing a 51.0% year-on-year growth. In terms of sales performance, the total sales volume of power and energy storage batteries in April stood at 164.2 GWh. Although this was a 6.2% decline from the previous month, it still demonstrated a robust 39.0% increase year-on-year. Specifically, sales of power batteries amounted to 108.9 GWh, accounting for 66.4% of the total sales. This showed a 5.0% decrease from the previous month but a 25.8% rise year-on-year. Meanwhile, sales of energy storage batteries reached 55.2 GWh, making up 33.6% of the total sales. Despite an 8.5% month-on-month decrease, there was a remarkable 75.5% year-on-year increase. Cumulatively, from January to April, the sales of power and energy storage batteries totaled 601.2 GWh, showcasing a 48.9% year-on-year uptick.
