In April, China witnessed steady growth in the production, sales, and exports of new energy vehicles. Production volume climbed to 1.32 million units, while sales reached 1.344 million units, reflecting year-on-year increases of 5.5% and 9.7%, respectively. Notably, new energy vehicle sales accounted for 53.2% of the total automobile sales. Concurrently, exports of new energy vehicles surged to 430,000 units, marking a 1.1-fold increase year-on-year. From January to April, cumulative exports stood at 1.384 million units, up 1.2 times compared to the same period last year. Relevant officials commented that China’s economy has got off to a solid start this year, with the automotive industry accelerating its shift towards electrification, intelligence, and cross-sector integration.
