Liaoning Province: Aims to Boost Methanol Vehicle Production to Over 50,000 Units by the End of 2028

The Liaoning Provincial Development and Reform Commission has unveiled the Implementation Plan for the Promotion and Application of Methanol Vehicles in Liaoning Province (Draft for Public Comments), inviting public feedback until May 17, 2026. According to the draft, by the end of 2028, Liaoning Province plans to have the production scale of methanol vehicles surpass 50,000 units. Additionally, it will establish multiple green methanol projects, construct centers dedicated to methanol fuel blending, trading, and application, and upgrade a number of vehicle-use methanol fuel refueling stations, thereby forming a comprehensive and integrated methanol vehicle industry ecosystem.
