On May 9, Tesla made an announcement regarding the recall of 173 Cybertrucks. This decision was prompted by structural flaws identified in the braking components, flaws that have the potential to introduce substantial safety hazards during driving. As per the information from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall encompasses Cybertrucks from the model years 2024 to 2026, specifically those fitted with 18-inch steel wheels. The defect becomes apparent as cracks emerging in the brake disc stud holes. These cracks are a result of mechanical stress, which occurs when the vehicle traverses rough roads or undergoes steering maneuvers. With the passage of time, these cracks may escalate, leading to the fracture or detachment of the wheel bolts. Such an outcome would inevitably result in a loss of vehicle control stability, thereby heightening the risk of collisions and subsequent injuries.
