According to Bloomberg, Stellantis Group will deepen its cooperation with China's Leapmotor, with the collaboration including the joint development of electric vehicle models under the Opel brand, the transfer of ownership of a factory in Spain, and the expansion of joint procurement. Opel CEO Florian Huettel revealed that Opel engineers have been working with Leapmotor's Chinese team to develop a mid-size SUV, which will be produced at the factory in Zaragoza, Spain, and will compete with models such as the Volkswagen Tiguan and Hyundai Tucson in the future.
