On May 3, Tesla introduced the new Model 3 Premium rear-wheel-drive variant to the Canadian market, boasting a starting price of CAD 39,490 (equivalent to approximately USD 29,000 or RMB 198,000), setting a new benchmark for the lowest price ever recorded in Canada. Concurrently, the price tag for the Model 3 Performance has been slashed from CAD 89,000 to CAD 74,990. This price adjustment stems from Tesla's strategic shift to supply Canada with new vehicles directly from its Shanghai Gigafactory, taking advantage of Canada's modest 6.1% tariff on Chinese-made electric vehicles within the specified quota. Anticipate the delivery of new orders as early as May or June 2026.
