Ford Motor Company announced a senior leadership restructuring on Wednesday, revealing that Doug Field, a key figure in its electric vehicle (EV) and technology operations, will depart. Over the past five years, Field has spearheaded Ford's electrification and technology strategies, playing a pivotal role in CEO Jim Farley's vision to transition the company toward software-defined vehicles and advanced electric technologies. Field oversaw the development of technology stacks for Ford and Lincoln models, covering in-vehicle infotainment, driver assistance systems, connected vehicle services, and more. He also participated in business restructuring efforts and the development of low-cost electric vehicle projects. Following the restructuring, Ford has established a new 'Product Creation and Industrialization' team, led by COO Kumar Galhotra, which will integrate the teams previously under Field's purview.
