Mercedes-Benz has officially introduced the 2027 EQS, its all-electric flagship sedan, available in multiple variants. The EQS 450+ is equipped with a single-motor rear-wheel-drive system, offering an impressive range of up to 925 kilometers. Meanwhile, the EQS 500 4MATIC and EQS 580 4MATIC models boast dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations, with their pricing details yet to be disclosed.
Over 25% of the components in this new vehicle have either been newly developed or significantly optimized. Notably, it features an upgraded 800V electrical architecture, enabling a maximum fast-charging power of 350 kW and an expanded battery capacity of 122 kWh. A mere 10-minute charge can extend the vehicle's range by approximately 320 kilometers.
The EQS also introduces a steer-by-wire system for the first time, along with an optional near-rectangular yoke-style steering wheel. Externally, it maintains the single-arch body design, boasting an aerodynamic drag coefficient of just 0.20Cd.
The powertrain has undergone enhancements, with in-house-developed motors and a two-speed transmission on the rear axle, coupled with improved energy recovery capabilities. In terms of intelligent features, the EQS is equipped with the MB.OS system and a 56-inch triple-display setup. It integrates a multi-agent AI assistant and supports advanced functions such as automatic lane changing, steering avoidance, and automatic parking.
