On April 14, the No.1 Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, and the Transport Services Department of the Ministry of Transport convened a collaborative working conference focused on the road testing and demonstration applications of intelligent connected vehicles. The meeting aimed to coordinate self-inspection and rectification initiatives and to bolster safety oversight. The conference underscored the importance of striking a balance between development and safety, and steadily pushing forward the road testing and demonstration applications of intelligent connected vehicles. All regions are mandated to carry out thorough self-inspections and evaluations in response to recent safety incidents, pinpoint and analyze issues, and implement comprehensive rectifications. Concurrently, it is crucial to establish and enhance working mechanisms, refine management policies, intensify full-process safety supervision, bolster emergency response capabilities, and ensure the safe and orderly progression of testing and demonstration activities. Relevant departments will persist in refining regulations for autonomous driving management, instituting a three-tier evaluation system encompassing national, local, and enterprise levels, and reinforcing emergency safeguards to foster the high-quality development of the intelligent connected vehicle industry with a strong emphasis on safety.
