At the High-Level Forum on the Development of Intelligent Electric Vehicles (2026), Cui Dongshu, who serves as the Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), made a series of predictions. He anticipated that the total auto wholesale volume would reach 34.8 million units in 2026, representing a 1% year-on-year growth. Specifically, the wholesale volume of passenger vehicles is expected to hit 30.09 million units, a 2% increase from the previous year. In terms of domestic sales, it is projected to be 23.59 million units, showing a slight decline of 1% year-on-year. However, exports are forecast to surge to 6.5 million units, marking a significant 13% year-on-year rise. Additionally, the wholesale sales of new energy passenger vehicles are estimated to reach 17.3 million units, also up by 13% year-on-year.
