On March 31, Baidu and Beijing Jiaotong University jointly issued a statement: Baidu Apollo has generously donated a fleet of autonomous vehicles, along with a comprehensive autonomous driving system, to the university. In addition, it has provided pertinent source codes and tools to bolster teaching and research initiatives. The donated vehicles, functioning as a platform with dual value in both research and practical application, are set to cater to the teaching and research requirements of three distinct colleges within Beijing Jiaotong University. The research team of the university has outlined plans to leverage these resources to carry out cutting-edge, forward-looking research. Guo Yihua, a representative from Beijing Jiaotong University, conveyed heartfelt gratitude for the donation, describing it as a substantial technological boon. Sun Peng from Baidu revealed that since the inception of the 'Spark Plan' in early 2025, Baidu Apollo has been actively donating related equipment to numerous universities and research institutions.
