On April 6, as reported by Qingdao Daily, nine departments, including the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, have recently collaborated to release a comprehensive plan. This plan delineates the development objectives and key focal points for the automotive industry up to 2026. According to the plan, by 2026, Qingdao aims to stabilize its annual vehicle production at approximately 1 million units, with new energy vehicle production reaching 450,000 units. Concurrently, Qingdao will prioritize addressing the scarcity of core components, such as the 'three electric' systems (battery, motor, and controller), automotive chips, and intelligent cockpits.

In terms of project progression, Qingdao is set to propel the development of 57 automotive industry projects, each boasting an investment exceeding 100 million yuan. The city will expedite the completion and production ramp-up of 16 projects slated for completion in 2025, encompassing the FAW Forging, FAW Commercial Vehicles, and Chery KD Projects. These projects, with a cumulative investment of 14.2 billion yuan, are projected to contribute an additional 12.8 billion yuan in new output value by 2026. Furthermore, Qingdao will push forward with 28 ongoing projects, collectively valued at 15.8 billion yuan. Among these, 27 projects are anticipated to be finalized by 2026, generating an extra 13.5 billion yuan in new output value upon full operation.
