On April 3, the head of Tesla's Japanese division announced an ambitious expansion strategy, revealing that the company aims to boost its store count in Japan to a minimum of 60. The ultimate objective? To claim the title of Japan's largest imported car brand as soon as next year. Despite the relatively slow uptake of electric vehicles in Japan, Tesla has successfully fueled sales growth over the past two years. This has been achieved through a combination of expanding its retail and service networks, coupled with increased investment in training initiatives. Presently, Tesla boasts 35 stores and 14 service centers across Japan. Moreover, the company has recently begun accepting orders for the Model Y L, a spacious six-seater model tailored specifically for families.
