The head of Tesla's Japanese operations stated on Friday that the company plans to expand its presence in Japan with at least 60 new stores, aiming to become the largest imported car brand in Japan as early as next year. Tesla's Japan manager, Riji Hashimoto, said that over the past two years, Tesla has expanded its store and service center coverage, increased training investments, and driven sales growth in the Japanese market, despite the relatively low penetration rate of electric vehicles in Japan.
