As per reports, new energy commercial vehicles in China are currently experiencing a high-incidence phase of battery degradation. Due to intensive usage, these vehicles' batteries degrade by 30% to 40% within just 3 to 4 years. In some cases, the battery health of certain vehicles even plummets below 60%, leading to a drastic reduction in driving range. To sustain their operations, numerous ride-hailing and delivery drivers are resorting to unauthorized installations of additional batteries or range extenders. This trend is driving the rapid expansion of a gray modification market. However, experts have cautioned that these illegally modified vehicles present significant safety hazards, branding them as 'mobile bombs' on the streets.
