Earlier reports had suggested that Tesla was gearing up to introduce the Model 3 Standard to the Chinese market, with rumors circulating that a dedicated production line had already been set up at its Shanghai Gigafactory. However, Tesla has now officially set the record straight, denying these speculations. The company confirmed that, at present, it has no intentions of bringing the Model 3 Standard to China and has not constructed any corresponding production line at the Shanghai facility. Currently, the Shanghai Gigafactory is dedicated to the production and delivery of the existing Model 3 and Model Y variants. The Model 3 Standard remains exclusive to overseas markets, while the Chinese market primarily offers the rear-wheel-drive version, along with various other trims such as the long-range and high-performance all-wheel-drive versions.
