On March 26, data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers revealed that in February 2026, sales of Chinese-brand passenger vehicles totaled 1.078 million units. This figure represents an 18.9% decrease compared to the previous month and a 15.9% decline year-on-year. These sales accounted for 70.2% of the total passenger vehicle market, reflecting a 0.4 percentage point drop in market share compared to the same period last year. For the period from January to February 2026, cumulative sales of Chinese-brand passenger vehicles amounted to 2.409 million units, showing a 12.1% decrease year-on-year. Their market share stood at 68.3%, experiencing a 1.1 percentage point decline compared to the previous year.
