In a bid to tackle the pressing issue of charging new energy vehicles, Chengdu has ingeniously harnessed the spare capacity of street lamp infrastructure. The city has installed more than 600 roadside charging stations in areas densely populated with older residential communities within the main urban district. These stations are slated to be fully functional by the end of April. Sharing the same power supply system as the street lamps, these charging stations deliver a charging capacity of 7 kilowatts. Users can access them by scanning a code, particularly convenient during nighttime, ensuring that the lighting remains unaffected while maximizing resource efficiency.
