On March 26, Pony.ai, an autonomous driving mobility service provider, Verne, and global mobility giant Uber, unveiled a strategic partnership aimed at amalgamating Pony.ai’s cutting-edge autonomous driving technology, Uber’s expansive mobility platform, and Verne’s comprehensive service ecosystem. This collaboration is set to pioneer Europe’s inaugural commercial Robotaxi service in Zagreb, the vibrant capital of Croatia, with initial deployments already in motion. Within this three-way partnership framework, Pony.ai will supply the autonomous driving solutions, Verne will oversee fleet management and operations, and Uber will seamlessly integrate the service into its worldwide ride-hailing network. There are ambitious plans to progressively extend the service to additional European cities, with the fleet size projected to swell to thousands of vehicles.
