Media reports have indicated that, in reaction to rumors surrounding the potential exit of the Skoda brand from the Chinese market, Volkswagen China has clarified that Skoda's sales operations in China will persist until mid-2026. Subsequently, vehicle owners will still be entitled to comprehensive warranty and after-sales services. Volkswagen China explained that Skoda is recalibrating its global strategy to concentrate on high-growth markets, including India and the ASEAN region. Concurrently, Volkswagen China emphasized that China continues to occupy a pivotal position within Volkswagen Group's global strategy. Presently, the Group boasts nearly 40 factories across China, caters to a customer base exceeding 50 million, and has established its largest R&D center outside Germany—Volkswagen (China) Technology Co., Ltd.—to drive the continuous evolution of intelligent connected vehicle technologies.
