The Czech automotive brand Skoda, under Volkswagen Group, announced on March 25 that it will exit the Chinese market by mid-2026 due to difficulties in adapting to the pace of electrification transformation in China's auto market. Skoda stated that it will continue to sell existing models in China with regional partners until mid-2026 and will continue to provide after-sales service. Previously, Skoda's sales in the Chinese market had been declining year after year, with only 15,000 units sold in 2025, a plunge of over 95% from its peak in 2018.
