On March 24, news emerged that BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. and BMW (China) Automotive Trading Ltd. have formally submitted a recall plan to the State Administration for Market Regulation, adhering to the relevant regulations and their implementing measures. Specifically, BMW Brilliance is recalling a batch of domestically-produced 5 Series vehicles, manufactured between December 5, 2023, and April 12, 2025, with a total of 133,849 units affected. The root cause of this recall lies in the improper routing of the front cabin air conditioning harness. This flaw could potentially lead to damage of the harness during post-sale replacement of the air filter element, and in extreme scenarios, might result in a short circuit and even a fire.
