The Southern (Shaoguan) Intelligent Connected and New Energy Vehicle Testing and Inspection Center (Southern Testing Site) has now officially commenced operations. This state-of-the-art facility, developed through a collaborative effort among five key stakeholders, spans an impressive 8,600 acres and represents an investment of over RMB 3.6 billion. The National Intelligent Connected Vehicle Quality Inspection and Testing Center (Guangdong), which is set to be established here, has already received approval and recognition as a pioneering platform for Guangdong Province’s burgeoning low-altitude economy sector.

GAC Group views this development as a pivotal milestone in refining its R&D verification framework. By adopting a 'low-altitude + testing site + laboratory' architectural approach, the Southern Testing Site is poised to cater to a wide array of testing requirements across diverse domains, thereby bolstering GAC’s capabilities in full-chain verification. With a robust and all-encompassing test verification system already in place, the inauguration of the Southern Testing Site will further polish GAC’s integrated R&D chain.

On the day of the launch, the GOVY AirCab, a flying car prototype developed by Gaoyu Technology (a GAC-incubated venture), achieved a successful maiden flight, thus creating an industrial closed loop in tandem with the Southern Testing Site. Looking forward, GAC is set to harness the potential of this testing site to foster collaborative innovation, explore cutting-edge technological frontiers, and inject fresh impetus into the automotive industry’s evolution, ultimately benefiting its users.
