At the 2026 Chery Battery Night event, Chairman Yin Tongyue revealed that Chery’s pilot production line for solid-state batteries has successfully developed cells with a range of energy density levels. These cells are currently undergoing rigorous testing to ensure their performance and reliability. Vice President Gu Chunshan emphasized that the mass production and broad application of all-solid-state batteries are on the horizon, with Chery pledging to make unlimited future investments to support this initiative. According to reports, Chery’s Rhino Battery S-series includes 60Ah solid-state batteries with energy densities of 400Wh/kg and 600Wh/kg, capable of delivering a driving range exceeding 1,500km. The company plans to conduct on-vehicle verification of these batteries in 2027.
