The US Department of the Interior confirmed that Tesla and LG Energy Solution have reached a $4.3 billion cooperation agreement for a battery factory. They will build a lithium iron phosphate battery manufacturing plant in Lansing, Michigan, which is expected to start production in 2027 and supply energy for Tesla's Houston Megapack 3 energy storage system.
