On March 13, Volkswagen made an announcement stating that its inaugural model, the ID.UNYX08—a product of joint development with the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer XPENG—has officially embarked on its mass production journey. This mid-to-large-sized, fully electric SUV is slated for a market debut in China during the first half of 2026. As part of Volkswagen's strategic market counteroffensive, the company has outlined plans to introduce more than 20 new models in the Chinese market this year, aiming to bolster its presence and competitiveness.
