This morning, BYD Auto's official Weibo account made a significant announcement: BYD Group has officially become a new member of the IATF AISBL. This move is poised to bolster IATF's efforts in tackling the transformation challenges within the automotive industry and ensuring that the system aligns with both present and future demands. BYD has appointed Shu Wenfeng as its official representative to engage actively in the organization's activities.

The IATF, established in 1996 through a collaborative effort by leading global automakers and automotive industry associations from around the world, aims to harmonize the evaluation and certification system for the global automotive supply chain. In anticipation of further development, a new legal entity, IATF AISBL, is set to be registered in Brussels in early 2026.

At the heart of IATF's mission is the development and maintenance of the IATF 16949 standard. This quasi-mandatory, globally unified automotive quality management system standard places a strong emphasis on defect prevention, reduction of variation, and waste minimization, thereby fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the automotive industry.
