On March 12, RoboSense revealed that it had entered into an exclusive agreement with Baidu’s autonomous driving ride-hailing platform, Apollo Go, to serve as the sole provider of front-mounted LiDAR systems. Under this contract, RoboSense will supply its advanced “thousand-line EM4 digital LiDAR paired with all-solid-state blind-spot-filling E1” system for integration into Apollo Go’s upcoming front-mounted, mass-produced Robotaxi fleet. This setup will enable precise, 360° omnidirectional sensing with no blind spots.
The two companies have a history of collaboration on several generations of operational vehicles. This sole-source supply deal represents Apollo Go’s first deployment of thousand-line LiDAR technology, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of autonomous driving systems.
