On March 11 (local time), data released by the American Automobile Association revealed that the average price of gasoline in the United States had climbed to $3.58 per gallon, reaching its peak in more than 21 months. Over the past week, gasoline prices have seen a cumulative increase of 38 cents, and within a month, they have surged by 64 cents. This marks the largest weekly and monthly price hike since March 2022. Currently, gasoline prices are approximately 22% higher than they were a month ago. In the meantime, diesel prices in the United States have escalated even more rapidly, with the latest average price hitting $4.89 per gallon, reflecting a cumulative rise of 79 cents over the past week.
