On March 5, BYD made a splash by unveiling its second-generation Blade Battery alongside its cutting-edge flash charging technology. When hooked up to a flash charging station, this innovative battery can surge from 10% to 70% charge in a mere 5 minutes, and reach a staggering 97% charge in just 9 minutes. This feat sets a new benchmark for the fastest charging speeds among batteries produced on a global scale.

Addressing concerns raised by netizens regarding potential battery degradation from frequent flash charging, He Long, the Executive Vice President of BYD Group and CEO of FinDreams Battery, emphasized that "ensuring uncompromised safety and lifespan" was a fundamental principle throughout the development process. He assured that rigorous and extensive experiments have been conducted to validate the battery's safety and longevity.

A live demonstration video showcased at the press conference provided compelling evidence. After undergoing 500 flash charging cycles, the battery showed no signs of abnormalities during a needle penetration test, both while charging and after remaining stationary for 2 hours. This test is a stringent measure of a battery's safety and stability under extreme conditions.

Furthermore, BYD has demonstrated its confidence in the new battery by upgrading its warranty terms. The company now promises a replacement service if the battery pack's capacity retention rate falls below 77.5% within 6 years or 150,000 kilometers of use, offering customers peace of mind and reinforcing its commitment to quality and reliability.
