Mercedes-Benz has officially taken the wraps off its brand-new 2028 VLE model, which is slated for future production in China. In terms of aesthetics, the front end boasts a sizable grille, with the option for illuminated borders and an AMG exterior package to enhance its sporty appeal. The side profile is characterized by a sleek, streamlined design, complete with concealed door handles for a seamless look. At the rear, the design is vertical, with elegantly curved taillights that blend harmoniously into the roof spoiler.

The vehicle's dimensions are impressive, measuring 5,309mm in length (with an extended version also available) and featuring a wheelbase of 3,342mm (expanding to 3,517mm in the extended version). Inside, the focus is on technology and luxury, with an optional MBUX Superscreen system, a rear-seat entertainment system, a 22-speaker sound system, and a panoramic glass roof that bathes the cabin in natural light. The VLE offers a versatile 6 to 8-seat layout, accommodating various seat types to suit different needs.

Under the hood, the vehicle adopts an advanced 800V electrical architecture, supporting rapid DC fast charging at over 300kW. The debut model, the VLE 300, is powered by an 115kWh ternary lithium battery and a front-mounted motor, delivering a WLTP range that exceeds 700km. The chassis is equipped with AirMatic air suspension and rear-wheel steering, ensuring a smooth ride and a remarkably tight turning radius of just 5.45m.
