WeRide and Geely Remote have officially signed an agreement to enhance their strategic cooperation. Together, they are launching a newly upgraded Robotaxi GXR, which will be factory-installed and mass-produced. By 2026, they anticipate delivering 2,000 units of this vehicle for deployment in both domestic and overseas markets. The upgraded GXR is set to roll off the production line in the third quarter of 2026. As of January 2026, WeRide's global Robotaxi fleet has grown to 1,023 units. With the addition of these 2,000 new units, the total number of active vehicles in the fleet will surpass 2,600 this year, steadily advancing towards the 2030 target. The GXR incorporates WeRide's HPC 3.0 high-performance computing platform, developed in collaboration with Lenovo. This makes it the world's first Robotaxi to be equipped with the NVIDIA DRIVE Thor X chip, achieving a breakthrough in cost-efficiency. Furthermore, the GXR has already been deployed in multiple cities around the globe, both at home and abroad. It stands as the world's first model to initiate large-scale, fully autonomous commercial operations in China and the UAE.
