Under the leadership of Professor Zhou Jianting from Chongqing Jiaotong University, a dedicated team of Huang Danian-style educators at a national institution, with Professor Cui Xiaolu as the key figure, has triumphantly navigated the expert review process conducted by the China Railway Society for their innovative work. Simultaneously, the automatic orbital welding robot designed by the team for the arch rib sections of high-altitude, long-span arch bridges has been acknowledged as China's inaugural set of significant technical equipment. This milestone not only addresses the existing voids in China's railway arch bridge intelligent welding domain, in terms of both technical benchmarks and essential equipment, but also offers vital technical backing for the construction of high-altitude railway bridges in the mountainous regions of western China, effectively resolving fundamental construction hurdles. To confront the challenges of welding arch ribs in mountainous terrains, Professor Cui Xiaolu's team has made three pivotal technological advancements with their automatic orbital welding robot, substantially enhancing welding efficiency and mitigating safety hazards linked to high-altitude work.
