GAC Aion is progressively broadening its array of battery swap-enabled vehicles. Come April of this year, the Aion RT will make its debut with a battery swap variant, and there are plans to integrate battery swap technology into an even wider range of models in the future. Prior to this, the Aion UT super has already hit the market, boasting a dual-charging capability that accommodates both traditional recharging and swift battery swapping. Moreover, it lowers the entry barrier for potential buyers through a 'vehicle-battery separation' sales approach.

At present, Aion models are supported by a network of over a thousand battery swap stations spread across the nation. GAC Aion has outlined a strategic roadmap to escalate this figure to over 2,500 by 2026, double it to 5,000 within the ensuing three years, aim for a range of 10,000 to 20,000 by 2030, and eventually reach a staggering 30,000 stations.

When it comes to charging infrastructure, GAC Aion has already rolled out an extensive network of over 15,000 1000V high-voltage fast-charging stations. Additionally, it has established a robust grid of over 2,000 '9 longitudinal and 10 transverse' charging stations, ensuring comprehensive coverage and accessibility.

The introduction of battery swap models, coupled with the expansion of the battery swap station network, is set to offer consumers a plethora of energy replenishment choices. This strategic move is poised to significantly alleviate concerns over driving range, providing peace of mind and convenience to drivers nationwide.
