Zhao Hongwei, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), revealed that the CR450 EMU—the world’s fastest operational high-speed train—has successfully passed all its type tests and completed 300,000 kilometers of operational evaluations. It is anticipated that by 2026, the CR450 EMU will have finalized all operational evaluations and design optimizations. During testing, the train achieved a top speed of 453 kilometers per hour for a single train and an astonishing relative speed of 896 kilometers per hour when two trains passed each other in opposite directions. Furthermore, the CR450 EMU demonstrated outstanding performance across multiple indicators while operating at a sustained speed of 400 kilometers per hour. Notably, the EMU is equipped with fully independent intellectual property rights, has promoted the self-sufficiency of key component installations, and driven comprehensive upgrades in industrial clusters across several sectors.
