On March 3, SAIC Volkswagen marked a significant milestone as its inaugural EA211 range extender rolled off the production line. This innovative component is set to make its debut on the ID.ERA 9X model. Fu Qiang, the Executive Deputy General Manager of Sales and Marketing, disclosed that a technology launch event is scheduled for March 16, 2026. During this event, SAIC Volkswagen will unveil the latest technological advancements for the ID.ERA series. The range extender, developed on the foundation of the EA211 1.5T EVO II turbocharged engine, has undergone extensive technological refinements. These enhancements aim to boost power generation efficiency, accelerate power response, precisely regulate intake air temperature, and minimize operational noise. Furthermore, the ID.ERA 9X is slated to commence pre-sales by the end of the month, with interior details already made public.
