During a live broadcast on the Lantern Festival, Li Bin, the founder of NIO, disclosed that the highly anticipated flagship SUV, the ES9, is set to hold a product technology launch event on April 9. In the same breath, he mentioned that NIO's '5566 model series'—comprising the ET5, ET5T, ES6, and EC6—will undergo minor updates this year. These refreshed models will boast additional auxiliary driving blue lights, enhancing their safety and visibility. Furthermore, the ES6 and EC6 will offer optional zero-gravity driver's seats, promising an unparalleled driving experience.
The ES9, which has already made its appearance on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's list, is a behemoth in its own right, measuring 5365×2029×1870mm with a wheelbase of 3250mm. Capable of reaching a top speed of 220km/h, this powerhouse is equipped with dual motors—180kW at the front and a staggering 340kW at the rear—ensuring exhilarating performance. Additionally, the ES9 offers a plethora of optional configurations, comes standard with EDR (Event Data Recorder) across all variants, and is fitted with CATL batteries, supporting NIO's innovative battery swap sales model.
