XPENG recently held its Second-Generation Vision-Language-Action (VLA) Media Experience Day, where He Xiaopeng unveiled his proposal for the 2026 Two Sessions. He called for an accelerated focus on facilitating the transition of autonomous driving technology from L2 to L4, along with the enhancement of corresponding regulations and management policies, emphasizing that L3 represents a transitional phase. Previously, XPENG released a test video of its Robotaxi operating within a factory environment, demonstrating the XPENG GX, equipped with the second-generation VLA system, completing the entire operation without a driver in the main seat and without relying on maps within the park. The relevant models have successfully undergone third-party site testing, secured road test permits in Guangzhou, and are now engaged in regular L4 public road tests. The mass production of the second-generation VLA system is on the horizon. He Xiaopeng remarked that the automotive and AI sectors are entering an era of cross-domain integration, and XPENG is set to delve deeply into the realm of embodied AI, aiming to be the first company in China to capture the "DeepSeek Moment" in autonomous driving.
