Recently, Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk, remarked on a social media platform that China is making rapid strides towards an electric-powered future, leading to a significant drop in the demand for oil and natural gas. His comment came as a reaction to data unveiled by 'World of Statistics,' which projected that by the close of 2025, China's fleet of new energy vehicles (NEVs) will surge to 43.97 million units, making up 12.01% of the nation's total vehicle fleet. Within this number, the fleet of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) is expected to reach 30.22 million units, constituting 68.74% of the NEV fleet. Furthermore, in 2025, it is anticipated that 12.93 million new NEVs will be registered, representing 49.38% of all newly registered vehicles. This marks an increase of 1.68 million units, or 14.93%, compared to the figures from 2024.
