At a live-streamed event held at the Xiaomi Auto Factory, Lei Jun, along with technical experts, delved into Xiaomi's automotive safety system. He underscored that while assisted driving systems offer valuable support, they cannot entirely supplant human drivers. Lei Jun urged vehicle owners to maintain constant vigilance behind the wheel and be prepared to assume manual control whenever the situation demands. Li Xiaoshuang, Vice President of Xiaomi Auto, echoed this sentiment, reinforcing the importance of human oversight.
Lei Jun also unveiled that the latest iteration of the Xiaomi SU7 boasts a host of safety enhancements. These include the incorporation of ultra-high-strength steel, an expanded array of airbags, a bulletproof coating on the battery pack's underside, standard laser radar integration, and refined driving stability and braking capabilities. Delving into the finer points, he highlighted that all models now come equipped with triple-redundant door handles as a standard feature, designed to facilitate swift escape and rescue operations in emergency scenarios. Xiaomi's unwavering commitment, he affirmed, is to craft the safest vehicles within its class.
